Site Info

Craftsman (c. 1915)

One-story frame with artificial siding. Hipped roof with front gabled front porch with knee braces. Three-over-one double hung windows, originally with a triplicate on the front elevation, now only a twin set. Off-center entry door. One-story two-thirds front porch with splayed wood posts on brick piers, weatherboard balustrade, brick buttresses at front entry. Exterior side brick chimney. Brick foundation. Rectangular plan. Contributing.

1. The house appears to have two front entries according to a c. 1996 survey file photo. The entry opening to the left of the porch center remains and contains the newly replaced door.
2. The door that was recently replaced was a non-original 6-panel steel door. The wood composite material of the newly installed door appears the same as authentic wood since painted.
3. No documentation could be discovered as to the original appearance of th door within this entry opening which is covered over in the photo.
4. The survey file photo indicates that the grouping of openings nearer to the center of the porch contained three openings with 3/1lights. The third opening appears to have been a door with 3 lights to match the muntin configuration of the windows. The current configuration consists of a set of only 2 windows.
5. The installed door with 6 small lights at the top is of Craftsman style and is appropriate for the era and style of the house.
