The proposed project entails the Historic Rehabilitation of the existing Moses Center building as an adaptive reuse for elderly housing in an independent living setting. The project includes an addition constructed with an umbilical connector tohe east end entrance of the existing Moses Center building and abutting the rear alley to the south.

The addition is proposed to be a 4-story building at 45 feet in height (existing building is 46 feet in height) The entries (north and south) of the addition are proposed to be similar to that of the existing building in design, but with an aluminum storefront structure and door in a light bronze finish. Overall design and fenestration as shown on drawings dated 1/29/2014. Additionally, demolition is approved for the gymnasium and transformer enclosure addition on the southwest corner of the existing building. The roll-up steel door at the rear (south) service entry is to be located on the west end of the addition further away from Arthur Street and of a color to blend with the brick. A brick mock-up for the addition is to be approved by staff prior to installing brick façade. A design for the gazebo may be submitted for review at a later date.
