This is to request pre-approval to make three purchases over $10,000 each. The subject items have been included in the approved FY07/08 budget. The subject items are included in a line item expense code in combination with multiple items; therefore, the MPC board is requested to approve these individual purchases.

1. $13,206 (approximate) #9200110-9420; MPC PO #0203186
Software purchases and upgrades for M2E GIS migration to ESRI-based platform. KGIS will be coordinating and making the software purchase in mid-July and will be invoicing MPC for the cost of the licenses in early July. ArcInfo Desktop (6); ArcInfo Desktop ?New licenses (3); ArcGIS Publisher (1)

2. $14,000 (approximate) #9200110-9420; MPC PO # 0203187
Planned hardware (PC and monitor) replacements for addressing, development services and GIS staff. Installation will coincide with M2E GIS Migration Project with MPC applications planned to ?go-live? in the August/September 2007. Dell Precision Workstations (7) to be purchased from Knox County bid list.

3. $11,300 (approximate) #9200110-9325; MPC PO # 0203188
Annual ESRI software maintenance charges for GIS software. This maintenance excludes maintenance on additional ESRI software being purchased this year. One year of maintenance and support is included in the software purchase.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the purchases.
MPC Executive Committee Recommendation: The Executive Committee will meet July 10, 2007 and will forward their recommendation to the full commission for the July 12, 2007 meeting and vote.
