Historic Zoning Commission

Old North Knoxville:

6-J-01-HZ

Staff Recommendation

APPROVE. Structure is transparent, and located at the rear of the landscaped pool area. Landscaping and placement make it almost invisible from Armstrong Avenue. From Thompson Place it is more visible but materials and scale make it unobtrusive.

Applicant Request

Other:

Construct wood and glass structure (14x18) to act as poolhouse.

Applicants thought they had included the pool house on their application for swimming pool construction (Certificate No. 91900ONK). Design of pool house is obviously not a historic structure, but blends well with the historic house and is appropriate for the area.
