APPROVE. Applicant proposes to remove later front porch, returning house to original Victorian appearance. Proposed work is consistent with adopted design guidelines and earlier Commission discussion.

Repair and replace siding as necessary, matching existing; rebuild front porch with new porch 8'x16' with tongue in groove flooring, beadboard celing, entablature and square, chamfered 6"x6" columnns, railing with quatrefoil cut-out design, shallow pitched roof, wood box gutters, brick foundation and piers.

Two story frame with artificial siding. Cross gable roof with asphalt shingle covering. Two over two and one over one double hung windows. One story gable roofed front porch with splayed wood posts on brick piers, pierced brick balustrade, brick buttresses at front steps. Stuccoed brick foudnation. Transom and sidelights at front entry. Irregular plan.


Applicant appeared before Commission about two years ago presenting artifacts and documentation describing design of original front and rear porches. Although the applicant was not ready to proceed with that work, or to obtin the Certificate, the Commission agreed with the proposals and the approach to resgtoring the porch. The work contemplated in this Certificate does not vary from what was discussed at that earlier date. Commission is asked to RATIFY Certificate No. 413034&G.
