Construct stairs and deck on west and north (side and rear) elevation; balustrade with 2"x2" spindles on approximatley 5" centers, square posts, on one story brick piers to match foundation; add matching balustrade on existing second story porch. Rear deck to have rounded railing. Only side steps are visible (possibly) from street, rear deck/porch is not. Convert existing side window to entrance door; window has in the past been a door. Reroof carriage house

James B. Dunn Mansion. Two story frame with asbestos shingle wall covering. Side gable roof with projecting front gable porch, asphalt shingle covering, dentils at eaves and sawn wood brackets at eaves on projecting front gable. Cornice returns on projecting front gable, lunette window. Two story three-quarter central front porch with round fluted wood columns with Corinthinan capitals. Second story balcony with leaded double entry doors and wrought iron balustrade. Interior end brick chimney. Brick foundation. Irregular plan. Sidelights at front entry. Entablature above first floor front entry with console brackets. Leaded glass fanlight and transoms at first floor main entry. Adjoining two story addition on east elevation with side gable roof, simple front entry portico.


The contemplated work will not be visible from Armstrong. It replaces a door that was removed several years ago, and repairs an existing second story balustrade, or the roof of the existing carriage house.
