APPROVE. Proposed workacknowledges that demolition of the storefront may uncover historic materials, which will be preserved, and the questions raised by the Historic Zoning Commission on October 17, 2002, and is consistent with design guidelines.

Install new double hung two over two windows in existing masonry openings; install new cornice above storefront; secure west masonry wall with plates and anchors at second, and third stories; install new storefront, continuing quoins to ground floor and wintalling windows and transom with segmental arched windows; install full view wood entry door; remove existing canvas awning and steel frame.

Four story brick building with engaged Tuscan columns punctuating bays, pressed metal cornice with modilions, chamfered corner with quoins, altered c. 1955 storefront.


Documentation from the applicant is attached. If historic materials are discovered, this Certificate will be amended. The proposed storefront is sympathetic to the period of the building and consistent with the adopted guidelines.
