Enclose space above first story, straightening lines of house. Corner beads will duplicate in size to those already on the building. The gabled portico and trim that were present at the time of designation will be reinstalled above the entry to the first floor porch. The first floor porch balustrade will match the current balustrade. The upper stories window trim will match the first story window trim. The siding will be 4" lap and extend to the third story and eave on the front façade.

Three story frame with asbestos shingle wall covering. Front facing gable roof (altered) with asphalt shingle roof covering. Paired and single three over one and one over one double hung windows. Inset second story with removed balcony. One story three-quarter front porch with shed roof, gabled portico with applied vertical trim, asphalt shingle covering. Replacement square columns with sawn wood balcony. Half view entry. Brick foundation. Buttressing at front porch steps. Rectangular plan.


The proposed work changes meet the adoped Design Guidelines for Fort Sanders NC-1, and are consistent with the changes requested by the members of the Knoxville Historic Zoning Commission at their September 18, 2003, meeting.
