Site Info

Queen Anne Cottage (c.1920)

One story frame with aluminum siding wall covering. Hip roof with lower cross gables and asphalt shingle roof covering, gablet on front elevation with attic vent (vent covering removed). One over one double hung windows. One story two thirds from porch with square wood posts with fluting, sawn wood brackets, recent lattice balustrade. Interior offset brick chimney. Stuccoed foundation. Irregular plan. Transom at main front entry.

This structure has been changed since it was nominated to the National Register, including aluminum siding, the removal of the original decorative front porch balustrade, and a rear addition. These changes alter the character of the house and would not be recommended if they were considered by the historic zoning commission, but occurred prior to historic designation. The changes being proposed with this certificate do not greatly alter the building, but are visible.
