APPROVE. House currently on lot is deteriorated and cannot be rehabilitated. Replacement house is consistent with original house design and appropriate infill for the Fourth & Gill Historic Overlay District.

COMMISSION MODIFICATION: Reconstruct retaining wall at front and partially down sides of driveway to allow for off-street parking, but retain appearance of retaining walls currently on street; use wood siding (preferred). Demolish existing deteriorated house and construct replacement house.

One story frame with weatherboard wall covering. Side gable roof with asphalt shingle covering, shed roofed front dormer with imbricated wood shingle covering, wood shingles in gables. Three over one double hung windows. One story full front porch with splayed wood posts on brick piers, sawn wood balustrade, exposed rafter tails. Exterior end brick chimney. Brick foundation, stuccoed and raised in front to accommodate garage door. Rectangular plan.


This matter has been before you in the past, but the replacement house design currently submitted for your consideration is a new one, which takes into account the character of this section of Gratz.
