Meetings Scheduled for One Year Plan Update

January 9, 2019 | More News | Public Meeting

Knoxville-Knox County Planning staff will host a series of meetings in early February for the One Year Plan update.

The One Year Plan is a tool that helps city officials make decisions about zoning and land use and is updated annually.

Planning staff will present proposed plan changes and then open the floor to residents for input. Past discussions have covered topics such as proposed developments, impact of the hillside protection area, the role of zoning and plans, and the seeming misalignment between zoning and planning patterns.

Information presented will be specific to the geographic areas of the City indicated below.

Topics of discussion at these meetings will include:

  • Permitted land uses and zoning districts;
  • Development policies; and
  • Illustrations of differences between permitted land uses and zoning.

These open meetings are a great way for residents to get involved and stay involved in planning for their neighborhoods. Opportunities like these allow the community to guide future growth in their area, learn about the planning process, and meet local decision-makers.
