Additions visible from the primary street1. The Infill Housing Guidelines state that taller additions should be made to the rear of the house to keep the original scale of the front façade consistent with other houses on the block.
2. The roofline of the front of the house will not change; the rear gable extends from the pitch of the existing side gable roof.
Site Info
The applicant is proposing a two-story addition to rear of house measuring 16-ft deep x 24-ft wide and aligned with the right side of the house. It would not be visible from the left side of the front yard, but would be visible from the right side.
1. The addition would be capped by a gable roof and would feature dimensional asphalt shingles.
2. It would encompass a new side-facing garage.
3. The rear façade would have 2 new windows on the ground level and 2 on the second level; all windows would be 3' W x 5' H.
4. The addition would be clad in Hardiboard panels.
5. The new rear setback would be 34 feet.
