Downtown Design Review Board

The Board meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 4:00 pm in the Small Assembly Room of the City County Building, unless noted otherwise.

Historic Zoning Commission

The Historic Zoning Commission (HZC) is a local commission, appointed by the City or County Mayor and confirmed by City Council or County Commission.

The HZC reviews applications to alter, demolish or move properties within the historic overlay, reviews proposed new construction in historic and neighborhood conservation overlay districts, oversees the identification and designation of historic properties, and reviews proposed National Register nominations.

Infill Housing Design Review Committee

Meetings are held in the Small Assembly Room of the City County Building located at 400 W. Main Street.

Tennessee Technology Corridor Development Authority

The overlay is designed to encourage technology and related land uses while preserving the area's forested ridges, rolling hills, and broad valleys.

The zoning is fairly flexible and allows most types of office and light industry, with limits on retail development.
