2022-2023 Annual Report Available

Our staff has been hard at work over the past year on projects that are helping our partners prepare for continued change.

Each year, we distribute an Annual Report to showcase those projects, and the most recent edition is now available.

Among this year’s highlights, staff continued work with Knox County on Advance Knox, the comprehensive land use and transportation plan for the county that will be completed later this year. The Alcoa Highway Corridor Study was also adopted and we completed a collaborative project identifying barriers to innovative types of infill housing development in the city. Our transportation division completed an update to the Transportation Improvement Program, coordinated work with local governments on a regional pavement management project, and embarked on a roadway safety plan. Support staff also added functionality to our case viewer map, released Center of Population and Priority Population reports, provided website support for partnering agencies, and continued work to enhance interactive tools.

In addition to the work of staff, our Planning Commissioners heard 507 cases, and commissioners and members of the Design Review Board, Historic Zoning Commissions, and TTCDA continued their work.
